Who We Are Cheyenne Saddle Tramps Riding Club |
|
Our club was started by John Easterwood in 1957. His intention was to start a club that revolved around family and horses. John is no longer with us, but our club is still going strong with all the people that have seen or will see his vision. The riding season starts with a 'warm up show' in late April called the Easterwood Show. This show gives everyone a chance to get ready for the season and have a little fun before the point shows. Each year Cheyenne Saddle Tramps awards a family free membership for the John Easterwood Award for all of the hard work they put in. Sheila Vossler was one who saw John's vision and became the first official member of Cheyenne Saddle Tramps. To honor her, Cheyenne Saddle Tramps has the Sheila Vossler award. This award goes to the junior member who works the hardest to help with activities and who is a good role model for the other junior members. Each year two girls represent the club as the Cheyenne Saddle Tramps Royalty. Their titles are Queen and Princess. They travel around the area doing volunteer work, fund raisers and promoting the club. They also have to be present at every club function. These girls work very hard to earn the positions. Yearly tryouts assess and evaluate all the potential candidates for these positions. Queen & Princess are not chosen only on their ability to ride a horse, but on their participation with the club, activities, community service, a speech contest and their personal appearance. Cheyenne Saddle Tramps is proud to have Gracie Brown, 2010 Queen and Jordan Rudolph, 2010 Princess. Many family horse activities are available throughout the year including: Horse Shows, Gymkhanas, 3-D Barrels, Drill Team, parades and clinics. To become a member, please read the clubs constitution, bylaws and rules. Download an application and complete it, then it may be either mailed or bring it to any event to join. |
